A Response Essay to the Movie

Last week, I saw the movie <Brave>, which is about a girl's mom changing into a bear because she changed her destiny. It shows the true love of a mother and the way to achieve people's own dreams. I was so impressed and touched of that movie, so I'd like to write a response essay to <Brave> and tell my opinion.
Firstly, to briefly summarize <Brave>, Merida doesn't like her mother, Elinor because she always tries to make Merida keep to rules and become a princess. Merida says that she's going to be an archer, but Elinor strongly disagrees. Merida decides to change her destiny with the witch, and Elinor turns into a bear. Merida then tries to turn her back from an enormous, fat bear into a queen through lots of dangers and adventures.
After I saw that movie, the most favorite and interesting part I saw was Elinor coming back to a queen, a mother of Merida. I think Elinor had a really hard time while she was a bear. She couldn't say she wanted to, and it could be hard to move her big, fat body. However, she overcame a lot of problems with her daughter, Merida, and she finally got out of the curse. The other interesting part was Merida shooting three arrows in a row, and she also broke through the arrow on the middle of a scoreboard. Even professional archers are really hard to do that, so I was very impressed of her ability of shooting arrows.
My brief opinion of Merida is that she is really brave. She tried together with her mother changed into a baer, and fought against an evil bear, Mor'du. She also kept saying her opinion to Elinor that she wanted to live her own life. We can also know how curious she is when Merida followed blue wisps in the forest. She seemed to have a free life, trying to do anything she wanted to. Because of her eager of her dream, Elinor finally agrees with her dream and let her shoot the arrows with her own bow.
Lastly, my short opinion of Elinor is that she always hoped herself, and Merida would live strict with lots of rules. She wanted to keep her honor as a queen, and also her daughter's honor as a princess of the castle. She had a lot of pride and really hoped her family would be elegant. She also hoped Merida not to shoot arrows and be a precious princess of a kingdom. However, she let Merida to be free because of her dependence and reflection.
To state my opinion again, Merida and Elinor had many conflicts between them. They had some problems with their dreams, hope, achievements, and many other things. However, after Elinor turned into a bear, they had a chance to understand each other by thinking of the other side, and were able to live their own lives. I hope they stay happy and achieve what they want to.

  1. Haneul,

This is a well-thought out essay. You did a good job exaplaining your opinion. Try to put spaces between the paragraphs to improve the appearance of your post. You also should include a video clip of "Brave" and pictures. When you use the movie title, you can put it in quotations like this "Brave".
